Refreshment of Praise II

We Give You This Place

We come here to bow down before You
We are humbled to be where You are
We enter through Your loving kindness
And through your forgiveness depart

CHORUS:
We give You this place, this moment in time
We give You our joy and our sorrow
With all we embrace, with all that is ours
We come to prepare for tomorrow

We come singing, full of salvation
For it's new several times every day
We lift up a joyous ovation
And worship through vows that we will make

(Chorus)

Lord, dress our devotion in holy attire
While the garment of sin, rent and tear
Our emptied emotions, they are Yours to inspire
And our broken spirits, repair

(Chorus)

"We Give You This Place" was written as a song of dedication for Rocky Mountain Christian Church, Niwot, CO. Since then it has found it's place, as a prayer of dedication in many other settings: worship services, weddings, conferences, etc. Also recorded by Amy Ransom on the Gaither's "A Praise Gathering" CD

Build Your Fire

Lord of all, hear my call

In my heart now build Your fire

Make it holy, make it just what You desire
Son of Light, make it bright
Spirit Wind now move within
Make a holy, holy, holy fire
In my heart, Lord build Your fire
In my heart, Lord build Your fire
In my heart, Lord build Your fire
Make a holy, holy, holy fire

Written during a sermon and then sung at the end of the service, this song is now found being sung by the church-at-large...also recorded by a few praise bands here and there

Come Wash Me In Mercy

CHORUS:
Come wash me in mercy, come bathe me in grace
Clothe me in a righteous and loving embrace
The Judge of Salvation has a smile on His face
As He washes in mercy, and bathes me in grace

(Repeat Chorus)

My sin is so dirty!
I long to be clean
My past is so dirty!
I long to be clean

Come wash me in mercy, come bathe me in grace
Clothe me in a righteous and loving embrace
The Judge of Salvation has a smile on His face
Such a beautiful face!
As He washes in mercy
As He washes in mercy
As He washes in mercy, and bathes me in grace.

Written while driving home to visit my parents - I kept thinking of a story a young lady had told me of her life. Although the circumstances were different than my life, the outcome was the same: I need to be washed in the mercy of God
